About Us

Who we are

Department Of Works is a young, independent design company specializing in producing original boutique t-shirts. The Department was born out of the hard grind of London’s alternative music scene, creating designs with a unique style for musicians, comedians and artists alike. Drawn to the bold irreverent graphics, choice colours and quirky sense of humour, our aesthetic soon drew the attention of the fashionista.

What we do

We take the t-shirt out of it’s sloganeering doldrums to create shirts that are ahead of the trend, upwards of cool and a step ahead of the urban uniform.

All of our shirts are produced by hand using bench silkscreen techniques.

Garments

Only the best natural fibres have been used to produce our combed cotton tees. All our fabrics are reactive dyed to ensure colourfastness.

Tees are available in various sizes: small, medium, large and extra-large (X-large) for boys and small, medium and large for girls.

To offer a full range of choice colours we are mix and matching between boys regular and slim fit shirts. Please check the measurements of you chosen shirt before you order – we want you to look your best in the best fitting shirt in the world.

Look after your shirt the environment and your wallet, by washing your gear on 30°C. We recommend using a bio-degradable detergent with out bleach in. It’ll keep the colour looking fresh too.

Ethics

We only use garments that have been produced by suppliers who are members of the Fair Wear Foundation and comply with their standards. This ensures that all those involved with the production of our garments can enjoy a safe and healthy working environment and can expect to earn a fair wage in doing so.
